Protesta de los pueblos Ngabes y campesinos en el Tabasará

Les informamos que ya llevan más de 7 días de protesta el grupo manifestante de pobladores Ngäbe y campesinos que tienen bloqueando las entradas del proyecto denominado Barro Blanco de la empresa Genisa y a quienes se les inundaran sus tierras por dicho proyecto que no vienen siendo más que el mismo animal de los proyectos Tabasará 1 y 2 con diferente disfraz.
Esta no es una simple hidroeléctrica de pasada, sino que es toda una represa de embalse que les inundará a sus moradores cientos de hectáreas dentro de la comarca Ngäbe bugle incluyendo sus tierras de labranza, viviendas, escuelas e iglesias. Es todo un crimen lo que se proponen hacerles a estos humildes moradores tanto Ngäbe como campesinos. Todo esto con opción de inundarles aún más sus tierras en el futuro. Es importante señalar que esta represa originalmente se diseño para proporcionarles energía al nefasto proyecto minero Cerro Colorado, pero en solemne promesa a los lideres indígenas el Gen Omar Torrijos decidió echar para atrás tanto la mina, como las represas si estos no fueran el deseo de los indígenas. Como todos sabemos El General Torrijos murió misteriosamente en un accidente aéreo seguidamente en 1981.
El actual proyecto tiene una altura de 103 ms. y produciría 28.8MW sin embargo subiéndolo a 160mts inundaría 6000 hectáreas produciendo 220 MW, subiéndolo aun mas a 200 ms. inundarían 10,000 hectáreas y produciría aun más energía. Así que hay muchos millones y ambiciones de por medio.
También cabe señalar que se destruirá el exuberante bosque de galería con numerosos árboles centenarios y hogar de la diminuta ranita azul de lluvia del Tabasará "craugastor tabasarae" en extremo peligro de extinción y solo existe en este lugar del mundo y en ningún otro lugar sobre la faz de la tierra, sin mencionar la muerte masiva de peces diádromas que migran desde los estuarios hasta el curso alto del rio donde completan su ciclo de vida y es importante parte de la dieta Ngäbe el cual será interrumpido por la propia represa o morirán trituradas por las aspas de las turbinas.
El deseo vehemente del pueblo Ngäbe es que se declare el Rio Tabasará como Patrimonio hídrico, natural e histórico por su inmenso valor espiritual para el pueblo Ngäbe como para toda la nacionalidad panameña.
